You have been recently been recruited by the BBC who are piloting a documentary of our solar system. The documentary will be narrated over by Brian Cox. You have been tasked to create a 3D rendering of the solar system and the rotation of the planets around the sun.
The required development environment: Using the Visual Studio Development Environment of your choice (C++) or Netbeans LWJGL. The goal of the coursework is to develop 3D rendering of the solar system, to show how to combine texturing, lighting, rotation and Zooming in and out all in real-time with OpenGL.
You should write a program that displays a virtual universe with 3D object (3D Sun and its planets). Successfully rendered objects will have the following characteristics:
Looks realistic. Objects could be colored, textured, show varied light sources, and object should be relevant to the scene;
Has some movement and rotation;
Can be viewed from different positions/angles (viewing/projection);
Allows user controlled viewing (keyboard and mouse inputs)
